Relaxing weekend

Besides going our friday night this weekend was pretty uneventful. I surprisingly was fine with that probably because it was rainy all weekend.
Saturday started at the afb gym and had a great workout. Like I said it rained all weekend so after the gym we ran to Target then watched movies all afternoon and he napped.

He grilled us some yummy bbq chicken for dinner which was SO good. He got to use his new grill we got at Target for $9! Talk about a good deal!

Sunday also started in the afb gym. I had the best cardio workout! They have spin bikes on the side so I basically got to do a spin class using my previous classes for ideas and I loved it! I sweat like crazy and I got my heartrate up high so I know I burned alot of calories. I gained a few lbs so I am really trying to up my workouts to get that weight off. Thanks to my ankle for the weight gain but it's better so game on!

We took his dog for a walk and saw this old taxi and I thought it was so cool!! The inside of this car looked like it has never been redone.

We ended the evening with dinner then TCBY! Next weekend will be busier so it was nice to not do much this weekend!

DIG in the park

Yesterday after work Dave and I met up with a group of people from work for Happy hour. They chose DIG in the park in Park Circle which I had never been to so I was excited to try a new place. Also I knew it would be a fun group and networking with coworkers is always a good thing. You never know when you may need something or vise versa, good relationships are a plus at work.

We all met up at about 4:30 and the weather was perfect. We all were chatting, ordering drinks and having fun.

Then the sky turned grey and the bottom dropped. It stormed pretty bad for a good hour at least. We were outside under a covered bar area so we were good but the thunder and lightning were a bit scary at times.
Once the storm was over the band started and they were so good. I think they go by the name bootless and just fyi they were all in boots haha.
A couple of people wanted to take a shot and since Dave was my DD I joined them.
We had such a good time but after 3 hours it was time to go!
Look how pretty the sky was after the storm, I loved it!

I definitely enjoyed my time and got to know a few people better and talk to some I had never formally met. I also want to go back there for dinner one evening when the weather is a bit nicer.

Afternoon ride

This afternoon when I was done with the gym I headed to my sisters to ride bikes. I have learned riding bikes burns alot of calories so it is a plus. It was nice to get out get fresh air and excercise a little more with my sis.
We rode down to sunrise park and then all over her neighborhood.

By the time we got back to her house we were hot and sweaty! It was time for a shower and to just chill for the evening.

I think I am going to buy a new bike but we shall see.

That's a wrap

My 4 day weekend has come to a close! I had the best time off of work and really needed that little break. Thankful for a cool boss who let me take thursday off :)

For the last day of my "vaca" I started it off with a great church service. This one was quite different seeing as it was outside under a huge tent. The sermon was great all about second chances and the music rocked!! The guy they have leading worship has an amazing voice.

They had a picnic lunch after but Dave and I were not attending so we could make it to the movies at noon. He has wanted to see the new Transformers movie for awhile so we made it happen today. It was good but 2 hrs and 45 mins was just waaaaaay too long for me.
Dave and I went to Old Navy for their awesome sales for the holiday weekend which we added a military discount to. We got a TON for such a great price! I love finding good sales! The only thing now that I really want more of is dresses for work.
We ate dinner together and hung out then I headed home. Since I was not active much today I decided to take my Kodie boy for a walk. Only .62 of a mile which wasn't too long but better than nothing.
Another amazing weekend in the books! I tell ya I love the people in my life. So blessed!!

Bike Ride and a Picnic

Today we were supposed to go out in the boat but unfortunately the weather was not great and it was too windy for us to have enjoyed our time. Luckily though it didn't end up really raining only a bit of a drizzle here and there. Therefore we went out and enjoyed the day. Me, Dave, Shannon and the girls got out our bikes, packed a lunch and headed to the James Island County Park for the afternoon. We had such a great time and even got to enjoy the sprinklers they just redid the water was a bit too cold for me though. It would have been perfect if it was a bit sunnier out and warmer.

You can see the storm clouds in these few pictures but like I said it only drizzled, we lucked out!

Dave and his BFF (what he calls Izzy) they had a lot of fun running through the sprinklers together.
I have not rode bikes in a really long time and today reminded me just how much I love it! I think I will try to make that happen more. It is fun and great exercise my Fitbit estimated that we burned 423 calories which is pretty darn good for an hour. We are having a steak dinner at the house with the fam which I is always a good thing :) I love a good steak!!

Happy Bday America

Yesterday we celebrated the 4th of July with yummy food, family, and fun in the sun! What could be better? My aunt Christine had everyone over to her house for a pool party/cookout and it was so fun! I ate waaaaaaaay too much food in fact so bad that I felt sick that night. Yes that is ridiculous but my goodness there was just too much yummy food to ignore. Thank goodness I worked out before the party so I felt a little less guilty about it.

It was great to see my Aunt Susan at the party and she stayed for a while so I know she loved that.

Such a great day! We were supposed to go in the boat today but the weather had different plans for us. I will blog what we did instead!

Start of a long weekend of fun

Yesterday I decided to take the day off and make my long weekend a day longer. Thank goodness I have a decent amount of leave and was able to do that.

I woke up and headed straight for a workout and it was pretty darn good!
Dave and I were pretty busy the rest of the day. We went to my house to pick up a check and then heard some not so good news about my aunts cancer. We had time and decided to go see her for an hr or so. I had not seen her in a while because of my baaaad cough but now I know it's allergies so not contagious.

We then headed to Petsmart in Summerville for Teddy to have his first vet appointment. He is very healthy luckily and apparently white fluffy dogs are picky according to the vet. I never knew they were known for that.

Dave and I grilled out for dinner. Bbq chicken, yummt pasta salad and peas! YUM! I found this grill at walmart for $14 and it really has been pretty decent! For that cheap I had no clue if it would be good or not.

I love the colors of the sunset. My sister actually called me to tell me to go look at it.
We ended up playing a few rounds of beer pong. We improvised since we don't have a beer pong table, so fun!
Today will be spent at my aunts for a party with the fam!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!

Afternoon stroll

Yesterday after work when I arrived at my house Dave was here waiting which I loved! We were planning to go to a movie but changed our minds and headed out to Folly.

We walked around all the shops and tried on some fun hats!
Then we headed to the pier which was really nice, there was a great breeze. Dave had never been on the pier so I knew we had to go walk on it. We went in the shop on the pier and he bought me 2 cute turtles which I LOVE!!! One is now on my desk at work and the other on my dresser at home!

We ended up at Ritas, another first for him. We split a burger then I had a delicious margarita on the rocks and he had a beer. They had live music too which just made it even better. Drinks, great company, live music on the beach, perfection!
It was a great afternoon and I truly enjoyed the quality time with my boy!
