Girls NightS Out

I had been doing so good about posting on time but I guess this week I slacked a little bit. Hey, better late than never. Friday was first of all my last furlough friday and I am actually sad about it. I was so worried about the furlough and dreaded it but now I will miss that extra day of the weekend. Oh well, it will be nice to have my money back. So I ended up having a pretty chill day. I went to my storage unit to put up a few things, hit up the gym, went to Tres Carmen Boutique on James Island then hung out at home.
Later that night I went out with my sister to meet up with a group of ladies for my friend Nors birthday. First Shannon and I went to JPaulz for dinner which was really good. I love the atmosphere there and the drinks are always yummy. It was a good place for us to kill some time and eat before we met up with everyone downtown at 9ish.
These are the first two pictures where I look at myself and think SKINNY. BIG moment here people!

So we ended up heading downtown and meeting up with everyone to start the celebrations. We met up at Mynt which was super chill at first then turned into a night club. We all had a TON of fun. Once it got super crowded I was kind of over it. I would say 3 hours in the club was plenty for me. I had to make sure I had enough sleep to hit the gym in the morning.
Birthday girl in the middle! Love this lady, we don't see eachother all the time but we still have a great friendship that I am truly grateful for.

Saturday I went to the gym then did a little shopping. I have been looking for a purse since my Coach one broke but I still haven't found one. So anyway I did my laundry then got ready to go out with my sister and her friends that evening. We went to Taco Mamacita on Sullivans Island and the food was so good. I really liked the atmosphere too, very chill! We also went to Hometeam BBQ but it wasn't all that great. The music they had that night was just a little bit off. I headed home after this and the ladies continued a little longer.

Sunday was another chill day, gym and grocery shopping! OH and I did go out to dinner with Kelly to Myabis. I haven't felt that disgusting from eating food in so long. No more hibachi for me! Bloated is not something I enjoy feeling. We still had a great time to end a good weekend!! I am thinking next weekend will involve less money spending and a little bit less going out. I had enough of it this weekend!

Pool Party Time

This picture is completely un-related but I took it after the gym on Sunday. It is behind a boat store on James Island along with a ton of other art work. They are super cool, would be a great spot for a different kind of photo shoot.

Besides the proposal I wrote about before this weekend was very chill. I went to the beach friday, hung out with the fam and worked out.

Sunday, I woke up and went to the gym then hung out around the house for awhile. I had to ice my ankle again which is getting old. I have an apt on the 4th to get it looked at. I just hope they don't tell me anything too bad. Later that afternoon we all headed over to my aunt Christine's house for a birthday/pool party to celebrate my Cousin Kimberly, Aunt Susan and Aunt Theresas birthdays that were the previous week. The pool was perfect for once so we all went swimming. Normally their pool is WAY too cold for me but it was good that day. Family time, a few beers, pictures, yummy food and really yummy cake made for a great party.  I took a few pictures! Enjoy!
That super yummy cake I previously mentioned
Me and my Izzy swimming in the pool
Mr. David and Aunt Theresa, they will be getting married in November :)
 Izzy, mom and Kimberly
Izzy swimming with her Aunt Susie
Pool, family and beer equals a great time
Dad enjoying the pool and a beer :)

Izzy being silly with Kimberly haha she is a mess
Lola Marie taking a break from the pool, that kid LOVES the water.
Aunt Theresa, Izzy and Mom enjoying the pool some more after having some dinner. It was too cold for me to get back in at this point.
Out of order, Theresa and I chatting about life. I always enjoy talking with her.
Here's that water child again!

Hopefully we can have some more fun times before summer is over. We have another good month and a half left of really warm summer weather.

The Proposal

So yesterday my best friend since diapers got ENGAGED!!!!!

Her boyfriend Josh messaged me on facebook asking for my assistance. He lives in Savannah so he needed my help trying to find a place to do caricatures in Charleston. I was clueless on this one since I have never seen them here except for the fair. So I did some google searches and asked a few friends and came up with nothing. His original plan was to have them both sit down and get a caricature done. His would have a bubble that said Will you Marry me? and her's would have been blank for her answer to be added. Seriously how cute would that have been when the person turned it around and showed her. BUT that plan foiled unfortunately. So one thing I told Kelly and Josh was I had to meet him before they got engaged. Everything has gone super fast with their relationship so yesterday was the first time meeting him. I really do think they are perfect for eachother. He is basically the guy version of her and I couldn't be happier for her. SO he asked if I would be there to take pictures so of course I said yes to that.

We planned to hang out saturday afternoon which she was already completely aware of. So we planned to go downtown and have a drink at the Vendue Inn's rooftop bar. He is not from Charleston so I knew he would enjoy the view up there and it is very Charleston. We walked through the market to just make sure there were no caricature artists down there but we never saw one. FAIL.

It was dreadfully hot so we ended up going straight up to the Vendue to have a drink. He texts me like basically how am I going to do this now?? We were running out of time. They had a party to be at in a little over an hour. So I said what about the pineapple fountain?? He was down!! So he convinced her to go walk over there real quick before we left downtown. and BOOM we got there and he got down on one knee. I stayed back once I realized it was GO time. I pretended to be taking pictures before he did that then I got their pictures. I know they are not AMAZING pictures but to have any picture of that moment in your life is great. I have no idea what he said besides, "Will you marry me?". I hope it was everything she hoped it would be because she deserves it.
Now one thing you should know about me, I am not emotional. Well let me rephrase that, I am but not publically. So when I tell you it brought tears to my eyes you know it was a great moment.

The Scene of the proposal, an absolute gorgeous Charleston day.

This is the moment she realized THIS IS HAPPENING!
This one is my absolute favorite out of all of the pictures I took.

The happy couple, we found a less sunny and hot spot to take a great picture.

So December 8th I will be helping her prepare for her wedding at Magnolia Gardens and walking down the aisle to watch them say, I do. There are lots of things to go down before that day and I can't wait. Lots of blog worthy events. August 31st we will be trying on dresses. I am really excited about that because it will be me, Kelly, Her mom, Aunt and grandmother at David's Bridal. It will be such a special time and I am very glad to share in the moments. Maybe one day she can return the favor and do all of this with me. Now, to find a guy ;) that might help as dad so kindly reminded me last night.

I'll be back to update on the rest of my weekend. I figured this event deserved it's own post.

Sullivans Island family time

Today after my morning workout I headed to Sullivans Island to spend time with family. Shannon, Isabelle and I met up with my cousin Alicia and her 2 kids. They are house sitting one street back from the beach on Sullivans. The house is very different meaning decor and has no AC. The people who own the house are photographers for National Geographic so their style was definitely different yet cool. We really enjoyed spending time with our cousins today since they live in Greenville and we hardly see them.
On our way to the beach, how cute are they??
Sullivans Island lighthouse which is still a working lighthouse.
 Group photo minus me
Oh the sass in this pictures ;)

Izzy and me, her mouth is FULL of grapes.
 Sister "selfie"
It was so neat to see a container ship entering the Charleston Harbor. It got so close and you realize just how big those ships are. There was another one not too terribly far behind it. Thanks to the rain though we didn't get to see that one come in.

Popsicles on the porch after an afternoon at the beach. What could be better for a toddler??

The kids ate some spaghetti while we chilled and enjoyed talking with Alicia. Then we headed out for a golf cart ride. The golf cart ride was so relaxing with the ocean breeze. One of my favorite things to do is drive around looking at houses and that's what we did. The houses on Sullivans range from new and HUGE to old and cottage like. I loved the variety and honestly would probably pick the cottage style home if I had to choose.
We also got to see Fort Moultrie on our golf cart ride.

I had a really great weekend and today was definitely a good ending to it. Back to work tomorrow though insert sad face now.

Fun with friends

It's only Saturday and this weekend has already been super eventful. My friend Angel came into town from St. Louis to see me and spend some time in the city she used to call home. Friday they drove down and we met up for lunch at the Kicken Chicken. One of my favorite places in Charleston. She has not eaten there in probably 2 years so she was game for it. I got the grilled tenders with their amazing sweet potato fries and she got their chicken salad. We both loved our lunch so that was a win.
After we chatted and had lunch we headed out to Folly beach. It ended up being such a great day. I was worried it would rain but why do I ever believe the weather man?!?! We stayed out there for almost 2 hours and her little boy was kind of over it. So we left but still had a lot of the day left. So we ended up heading over to the James Island County Park to Splash Zone and had a BLAST. We got there right at 3 which is when they cut the price in half to get in. So for $6.99 we got in and hada blast for 2 hours. I would call that a win my friends. We parted ways after that so she could head up to our friend Julies house where she spent the night. I stayed home just to make sure I got plenty of sleep. Last weekend I didn't sleep great so I am catching up this weekend.

Her son took this picture of us at lunch
 Me, Josh and Angel *Selfie*
So apparently selfies were popular this weekend
This is Josh and I both at the end of the same slide. I got a kick out of my face in that picture.

So this morning I woke up and headed to the gym with Shannon. We did killer arms so I was so tired after we left. I went home and got ready so I could meet up with everyone for lunch then headed to the aquarium. We had lunch at the Rising High Restaurant downtown. I had never been before but it was so good. I had a turkey panini with pepers and a spicy mayo with homemade pasta salad. After lunch we headed down to the South Carolina Aquarium for some fun. We all had such a fun time and luckily for us it was not all that crowded.
Josh and I in front of the sign out front. I thought this one turned out pretty cute.

Ok so I know this is an odd one to add BUT it's a big deal for me. This is the first picture of my backside (i'm not talking about my butt) where I haven't been unhappy about it. My shape is really changing thanks to my workouts and this makes me very very happy.

This was my absolute favorite part of the aquarium. I absolutely love sea turtles and this guy was showing off. We had hoped to go to see the sea turtle behind the scenes tour but they were sold out today. Hopefully we can go again and actually get to go.
This is cutie Mr. Bowen, his hair was killen me in a good way of course. He is so dang cute I just love this little guy.
Yes, there is a fish in this picture :)
Oh look another selfie, go figure!
Angel and I with the Ravanel Bridge behind us. This is definitely an icon in Charleston.
I really wish the dredging boat was not in the pictures but that's ok. Maybe next time it won't be there and photo bomb my pictures.

They headed back to her parents house after our adventures. We had so much fun with them and definitely made some memories. Luckily I still have Julie to go on adventures with. I can't wait to blog more about them too. This is such a fun way to document lifes happenings.

Also, I should note that this is the first blog from my laptop since FOREVER so if you noticed more words that's why. Blogging from my phone is convenient but I like this better. I can type out a long story and not feel like my fingers will fall off. Oh and I can add links to the places I go which is also a bit different.

Have a great rest of the weekend.
