Family Boat Day

This weekend is going to be broken up by each day because we had so much fun all three days and I took a lot of pictures!
First up, our Saturday boat day with the family! It was such a beautiful day we couldn't have asked for better weather. Boat, Sun, Family, Food, almost 3 mile walk looking for shells and hanging out what could be better?

I have never seen a crab with a tail that looked like a lobster! So weird!
We found a wrecked boat, surprised they let it sit there for this long!

We walked 2.6 miles looking for shells. When we got to the point where we turned around to walk back we realized there was nobody even remotely close to us and it was so peaceful. We saw lots of crabs, tons of shells, had lots of laughs and a few fun pictures!

Bathroom selfie waiting on the tide to come up enough to get the boat out!
We were out from 11-545, so it was ALL day, I love every second of it!
We had dinner with mom and dad then headed home to shower and pass out.
We both were sunburned but Dave was by far the worst. His feet have been the worst, they even had a purple look with blisters. Note to self never forget to put sunscreen on your husbands feet! Luckily he said this morning they are doing better because I was worried it would still be bad by the time we get to Myrtle Beach this week!

2 more posts about this weekend coming up :)

You guys, I am EXHAUSTED! This weekend was so busy but a really great weekend at the same time!
Friday when I got off work I went to Babies R Us for a baby shower gift then headed to get the kids. We originally were going to go with Dave to pick up my dads truck but he ended up going by himself. I went ahead and picked up them up early regardless since I had nothing else planned.
On our way home my sister called and asked if we wanted to come to the pool, YUP! We headed home, got dressed, grabbed our pool stuff and headed to her apt. We enjoyed hanging out with them for a little bit. We ordered pizza before we left then headed home and played in the yard all night. Well Dave cut grass so he probably didn't really "play" haha
Saturday morning I woke up at 6.... my body apparently hated me because I also had a hard time falling asleep the night before. So I ended up working out, got everyone breakfast, got us all dressed then me and the kids headed out. I dropped them off with my Aunt and Uncle while I went to a baby shower. Dave stayed home to clean!
How cute were the decorations and the cake! I left early but I am sure that cake was as delicious as it was cute! I can't wait to meet little Miss Annie, Lauren was gifted so many great gifts and I was happy to get to celebrate with her.

Alayna and Logan went to the Coast Guard Base open house and had lots of fun besides Alayna wiping out playing basketball. She thought it was so cool though that she got all bandaged up in an ambulance. I will say though later she probably wasn't loving how great of a job they did with her bandages. We had lots of tears at bath time while trying to take them off.

I am so thankful the kids get to have fun experiences with my family.

On my way home I met up with Dave to buy our new dining room table, I am in LOVE with it! I think it fits our décor perfectly and having a bigger table will be so nice when we have people over.
We had a few friends come over including my aunt and uncle and spent the rest of the day putting together the gazebo. The instruction book said it would take 90 minutes to put this together.... yeah it was more like 4 1/2... we are extremely grateful for the help and we felt kinda bad at the same time because we had NO idea it was going to be such a big project.

Sunday we all slept in a little bit and skipped church (yes we are bad). I walked on the treadmill for 50 minutes then we went grocery shopping. We cleaned a bit while the kids played and then headed to my parents house for a yummy dinner and hanging out.

Next weekend is a 3 day weekend and we celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. We don't have any set plans yet but I know we will at least go out to dinner to celebrate. We thought about doing gifts but I just don't think it's necessary. We shall see what the weekend holds!

Happy Monday friends!!

Mothers Day Weekend

Last weekend was jam packed full of fun and a ton of time spent with my boy. We had two weekends back to back without the kids but they are back this weekend with us then back to our normal schedule with 2 weeks thrown in during the summer. This is probably our last summer getting them for 2 whole weeks because next summer Dave won't be in the military. Unless he has no job then I guess he could have potentially even more time with them.
Thinking out loud here so I will just stop. haha I am believing he WILL have a job and things will be just fine.
Friday when Dave got home he had brought me a surprise and it was this pretty piece of art for the yard. He knows how much I love my yard so this was perfect.
We got ready then headed to JI for dinner at the Bohemian Bull. He is obsessed with their breakfast burger and craves this thing all the time so we figured a date night Friday would be great! So obviously that is what he had, we ordered onion rings that were to die for and I had a black bean burger which was surprisingly delicious. There was also a margarita involved which was also quite tasty.
We sat at their outside bar and the weather was beautiful so all in all a great date!
We stopped by to see our friends for an hour then stopped by mom and dads then headed home and passed OUT.

Saturday morning I slept past 9 which hasn't happened in gosh at least 3 years, like I woke up after Dave. This.Never.Happens. haha I should also mention I have been sick since the previous Saturday so I think my body just needed that sleep and the margarita helped that happen. After we got ready we went to the gym and for the first time ever we worked out together and I really liked it. Then we went shopping where I got some shoes then we got groceries.

Later that afternoon the storms moved in and it POURED for a few hours. We had free tickets to the Battery soccer game which we were sure at that point we wouldn't get to use but the skies cleared and we decided to go and hope for the best. It turned out to be a beautiful night for some soccer and we both were really glad we decided to go. We were also thankful I brought a towel or we would have had wet butts. haha
  Free shirts too!! woop woop!

 Sunday was Mothers day!
I got a lot of mothers day wishes which was cool, I forget this applies to me now even though I am a step mom. I definitely fall short when it comes to being a mom but I can say I do my absolute best and love those kids unconditionally.

They had a photobooth area at church so mommy and I took 2 pictures before church started! I sure love my mommy and our pictures we took! The one with the hats is so cute!
There was a cupcake table outside after service and the cupcakes were amazing! A girl from church owns her own business, I grabbed her card and will definitely be having her bake for me in the future. delish!!

The pretty flower we got for mom! I loved it and I may need to go get me one too!
We headed to mom and dads later for a taco lunch that was delish! Lots of yummy food was consumed on mothers day!
Lots of family time which I loved! I wish I had worn nicer clothes to Grammies house because mom and gram look so nice in this picture and I look like a bum! haha

One last thing, We bought this umbrella this past weekend after WEEKS of searching and it's really nice.
It won't last long though because we are having a gazebo delivered this weekend, we are blessed and very fortunate to have people who love us and bless us with nice things! We will continue to enjoy the umbrella a little bit longer though. It's probably a good thing though we are not keeping it because Teddy does not like it and barks at it. He is a special puppy!

Hope you all had a wonderful mothers day!!
