Salt Life

I suck at titles for blog posts but this one seemed fitting! Sunsets, the harbor and being out on the boat. This is a bit of a catch up post. I got slack on posting these the last few weeks!

The fam and I went to the Yacht Club last Friday, they were serving dinner and we stayed around to hang out for awhile and enjoy the fresh air and sunset. It was really nice and the breeze was amazing!

The next day I went out in the boat with my friends and it was perfect! We were out there for a few hours on the back side of Kiawah and had a great time! I even went swimming because finally the water was calm AND warm. Normally it's one or the other. After the boat we all cooked out and had a few glasses of wine. I love time spent with great friends. I am truly blessed!
We even got to see a bunch of dolphins swimming around. How cool!

Last wednesday night Kelly and I went to dinner at the Blvd diner then went to the Old Pitt St. Bridge, we got to see an amazing sunset. By far the best sunset I have ever seen. The way the colors changed every few minutes was absolutely crazy. We sat there for awhile in awe of the beauty.

Next post will be about my trip to Greenville this weekend! Most of the pictures will be of the mountain hiking my cousin and I did.

9/11 I will never forget

Wow, Can you believe it has been 12 years since the attacks on the World Trade Centers? I had not stopped and done the math but it blows my mind. 12 years ago today I was in 9th grade. I will never forget that day as long as I live. The first time I ever felt unsafe in this country. Yes, I may have lived in a bubble and never watched the news but still. I found out during my lunch, which was very early in the day, about the events of the morning. I had history class right after and our teacher put on CNN and we just watched and talked about how we felt and what all this meant. I am pretty sure the rest of the day maybe even a few following days were spent watching the coverage. It blew my mind 12 years ago and even to this day it does.

When I went to NYC over a year ago in March,  my cousin took me down where everything happened. The feeling you got while down there can't be described. You almost felt kind of sad which was rather shocking to me. I figured I would look at it like I had everything else in the city and move on. That was not the case, it got you thinking that's for sure.

This will always be a day I will remember and never will be forgotten.

Brownie time

What do you do when your niece looks bored and won't leave the house? Make the box of brownies her mom left in the house, that's what. I think she was a happy camper after that.

One of my favorite memories as a kid
was getting to lick the bowl or the beaters after mom made something yummy. Especially if the word chocolate was involved.

Now if only we had some vanilla ice cream to go with them. Maybe next time!

Labor Day weekend 2013

Holy crap, another weekend down AND it's already September??? How on earth did that happen? Time has been seriously flying by this year which freaks me out. A lot of people have commented on that lately. I wonder why some years fly by and others take their time? Coincidence? Maybe.

So friday afternoon after a CRAZY day of doing like 5 peoples jobs, this girl was exhausted. I had plans to go to a Riverdogs game with some friends. I didn't think I would last the entire night but I found some energy and made it happen. We had such a great time even though we sweat way more than I would like to say. Our seats were in direct sunlight for a good 2 hours. It was still hot when the sun went down but not nearly as bad. I know I shouldn't admit this but I have no idea who won that game. We were too busy chatting, walking around and letting their little boy play at the top of the stadium. Priorities people! I always love hanging out with Ashley and her family even though I don't see them very often. I love those relationships where even if you hardly see eachother, when you do it's as if no time has really passed. That's true friendship there!!
My favorite part of the game, Color Guard and singing the national anthem! What can I say I am a bit patriotic. Hence my next picture :)

Bekah, Me and Ashley, just a tiny bit sweaty haha
 The sky was absolutely gorgeous!!

After the game was over they turned all the lights off and had an amazing firework show!! They were so great, I always love fireworks.

So Saturday morning I woke up earlier than I would have liked. Shopping for Kellys wedding dress is definitely worth an early morning. She ended up saying YES to the dress which looks absolutely STUNNING on her. Oh, and I got my bridesmaids dress ordered. It's obviously the one picture below. This one didn't fit and I look awkward but you get the idea. I am thinking the only alterations I will need is the length since I am 5 foot nothing. After we found the dresses we went out to lunch at Carrabas. It was pretty tasty but I did learn after eating mostly healthy lately my stomach can't handle bad food. haha lesson learned!!!
Later saturday evening I went out with my friend Shannon and her hubby to celebrate her passing her Personal Trainer Certification Exam. I am so proud of her and can't wait to see where this takes her. She has been helping me with working out and eating better for awhile. I will definitely miss getting to workout with her almost everyday but she taught me enough so I am on my own now. Although, She is just a phone call/text away when I have questions. I ALWAYS have questions. We definitely stayed out later than I planned to the 9am bootcamp I wanted to attend didn't happen. We did however workout sunday afternoon so at least I still got in a workout. No biggie!

Labor Day!! Which was today, obviously. I woke up early and headed out to Folly Beach with Shannon and her little boy. It was so nice and luckily there was no traffic which shocked me. We stayed out there about 2 hours thankfully the breeze helped that happen. It would have been WAY too hot without the breeze.

We ended up making it to the gym before they closed for a killer leg day. Holy crap I will not be able to walk tomorrow. Lucky for me I have a massage already scheduled so I am sure Amber will definitely help me out.

Another kick butt weekend down and I hope the next one will be just as good.
