Thanksgiving 2013

How has Thanksgiving already come and gone?!?!? I swear this year is flying by and I wouldn't mind if it slowed down a bit. Anywho, we had our family Thanksgiving at my Aunt and Uncles house! They just got married so he is officially my uncle. So weird but so happy for her to be married! We had a ton of food as usual but I didn't eat a lot. I am watching my calories to an extent. I have a bridesmaids dress to fit in next weekend thats the main reason why. We all enjoyed visiting with the fam!

Me and my cousin Amanda! Love her!
Mom with her bro, sisters and mom!
Me, my sistas, Izzy and Kimmy!
I love my sisters!
Izzy was Kimberlys best friend this day! :)

We spent the afternoon at home hanging out. Then me and Shannon went to Walmart for some deals. I got the kids some cool things and a Ninja smoothie maker for me :) that thing is amazing!!

Such a great day! I have so much to be thankful for! Family, friends, job, roof over my head, food in my belly etc! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Kellys wedding shower

Today we celebrated Kellys' upcoming wedding with a little wedding shower. It was mainly family for her with a few friends thrown in the mix. It was such a nice shower and she got a lot of really nice things.  We ate a ton of yummy food including some really good carrot cake cupcakes! :) Only 21 more days until she is a married woman!! Such a crazy thought but I am so excited for her and can't wait!! I also hope I can still fit my bridesmaids dress!! They def ordered the wrong size and it JUST fits. We will see how that goes!

Best friends since we were babies

Halloween 2013

So last weekend my aunt threw her annual Halloween Party at her house. We always have a lot of fun seeing everyone dressed up and her awesome décor. This year they had a TON of food which I definitely enjoyed. Little did I know this would be the last time eating REAL yummy food for over a week. I got plaqued on Sunday with the stomach flu from Hell. I am now on day 7 and finally starting to feel like a normal person again. I am not however back to 100%. I pray nobody else gets this because it was not a good time. Anyway enough about the horrible flu. Enjoy the pics!

Race for the Cure 2013

Last weekend I walked a 5K with a bunch of great people. We did the Race for the Cure to help raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. My friend Norrissia lost her mom to breast cancer so we did it in her honor. We had a much bigger group this year which made it even more fun. Friday night we had a little get together for everyone to meet each other, get our shirts and enjoy some yummy food too.
How awkward do I look holding a baby?? haha one of Nors twins.
Here is our traditional group pic for the cookout

Saturday morning we all headed dark and early to Daniel Island. They have a bunch of vendors giving out free stuff starting at 7am and it is always fun to walk around and see all of the stuff they have going on. I got there early, go figure! I am always early to everything!
One of the window displays on the Island. I thought it was cool that the businesses got involved and creative with their windows.

Above is our group about to walk the 5k and below is when we first got to the Island.

We were a little slower this year but we had strollers and one injured Wanda Warrior but we still had a ton of fun and it was definitely an experience. I am definitely thinking next year I want to wear a fun pink tutu! We shall see! Maybe I should go check out the Halloween stores next weekend and try to find one on clearance!

Greenville Weekend

A few weekends ago I took the day off on Friday and headed up to Greenville, SC to hang out with my cousin and his wife. They are the ones that got married back in July that I posted about. I got up there and did a little shopping before my cousin got off work. Then I met up with him and his coworkers in Downtown Greenville. I love that area on main street it is just so different from Charleston. We had a few drinks with them and then headed down to Falls Park to see it less muddy. When we were there in July it had rained a lot so it looked completely different than when I saw it this time. He even showed me a waterfall to the side that we didn't see before.

Saturday morning we woke up semi early and headed up to the mountains. We stopped first at this rock on the side of the mountain which overlooked all of Greenville and you could see table rock from it. Then we went to Caesars Head State park. There were a TON of people so we didn't really stay here that long, plus the park isn't very big.

This is us in the "devils kitchen" I have no idea why they call it this and am too lazy to look it up.

We continued up the mountain to Dupont State Forest to see the waterfalls. I haven't done a whole lot of hiking in my lifetime but I am now in love with it. How rewarding to end up at such an amazing spot. This waterfall was HUGE and I loved every second of being there. It was fun to get to hang out with my cousin which I know will happen more now that he is back in SC. Living up in NYC took a lot of money to get to see him. I only got to go twice for only a weekend.

This was another smaller waterfall we walked too. It was beautiful as well but nothing compared to the other one.

After hiking all day we ended up going into Brevard NC to get some food because we were starving. I think we ate somewhere called Big Mikes and it was delicious even though it took FOREVER to get our food.

We headed back to Greenville showered met up with his wife then headed downtown to meet some of their friends. We got some sushi then headed to a rooftop wine bar off main and it was awesome!! We all had a really great time and headed home around 1. Let's just say the next morning the last thing I felt like doing was driving 3 hours home. I wasn't hungover just super tired from all the events from Saturday. We had lunch with my cousin Alicia then I headed back to Charleston.

I can't wait to go on more adventures with my family! I truly couldn't imagine not being close with them!!
