Our weekend

This weekend was pretty much as chill as could be expected and I actually slept in. So when I say slept in that means past 6 haha I woke up around 8 on Saturday morning and 7:30 on Sunday. For me this is huge!
Random picture I took in the gym, I kept it though because my arms are really starting to show some definition! I have been focusing more on heavier weights and I can definitely see a difference.
So Friday night Dave and I did yard work. The grass needed to be cut terribly but it has been raining so much we haven't had a dry opportunity to do so. I helped Dave the last time we cut the grass and I didn't hate it so I actually helped him this time as well. It is a sweaty job for sure but actually satisfying. We do need a better lawn mower though because there may have a been a moment where I pushed my foot off the fence because I couldn't move the darn thing.

Saturday morning we worked out, went grocery shopping, chilled at home then went to see the new Transformers movie. It was a good movie but it was LONG and I truly hate movie theaters but Dave was dying to see it so we went. He sucked up a lot on Saturday because he knew I didn't really want to go. I prefer movies in the safety of my own home and yes I am probably paranoid but the news makes me nervous to go a lot of places anymore including movie theaters.
We came home cooked dinner (steaks on the grill :) ) then watched a few hours of fixer upper which makes me want to completely re-decorate my entire house. I just need some Joanna Gaines magic and money and I would be in business. I never understood the hype of the show but one random morning Dave and I both watched it and we both really liked it.
Sunday morning we slept in, cleaned up the house a bit, headed to the gym for leg day. I worked out with Dave Saturday and Sunday and I am SORE. Most of the time we go to the gym together but do our own thing. I have started to randomly workout with him lately to just shake things up a bit and do that whole muscle confusion deal.  He pushes me and I can lift heavier because I have him there to support me so there are definitely benefits.

After we cleaned ourselves up from being sweaty gym rats we headed to my sisters house. She started selling Monat so she had a Wine and Wash party. I actually really like all the product she used for my hair and in fact it even looks great today and all I did this morning was brush it.

After the Monat Party we celebrated Lola turning 11 (on Wednesday). Shannon ordered the biggest pizza in the world HAHA We all stuffed our faces then had some cake so proceeded to stuff our faces even more!

  Birthday Girl!
Family picture before we had to leave!

Next weekend we are at the lake and right now the weather isn't looking great BUT I am praying it changes so we can enjoy some fun in the sun!!

Happy Monday friends!

Weekend Happenings

I really don't understand why some of my pictures are small and some are normal size?? So weird to me.

Anywho last Thursday I woke up feeling rough (fluid in my ear AGAIN). I stayed home from work and luckily started to feel better after some Tylenol. I ended up later in the afternoon going to the pool with some of the fam and I enjoyed every sunny moment of it. Finally the pool wasn't ice cold so I was able to get in.

I got home and we had quite the storm which was cool to watch from the front porch well up until the lightning got a bit scary.
So Dave calls me and says he will be home soon then asks me to come help him get his stuff out the car because he hurt his knee in the gym. So I of course go down to the garage when I hear his car and he says his stuff is on the passenger side. I open the door and I see some beautiful roses sitting there for me. It definitely was a nice surprise! I absolutely love getting flowers and having vases of them around the house. He's not perfect but he sure is a keeper!
Friday afternoon we got the kids a little early then headed to the Newmans to hang out for the evening. Of course we always have fun when we get to hang out with them! Yummy food, good convo and even a little bit of Pokémon hunting. Logan is dying for Jesse to come over to teach him how to play the game.
Logan and Dave are both pretty obsessed with the Pokémon cards and have spent many hours at the dining room table playing. Father son bonding time and it's not an electronic so it's a win in my book.

Saturday was a semi lazy day for us considering we normally are running around. We did go to the gym and got Logan a hair cut. Then we spent all afternoon just hanging at the house until we went to a house warming party. The kids helped me try a new recipe for Cookie Lasagna and it was a hit. Super simple recipe too.
Get chocolate chip cookies, dip them in milk and make a layer in whatever dish you desire to use. After the cookie layer you do a layer of whipped cream and add in some chocolate chips then do the cookie layer again etc until you run out of everything.
Ours was a small one since we were just testing the recipe so I had only two layers but it was perfect. The trick is to let it sit for as long as possible because the cookies get soft almost soggy and just makes it even tastier.
How have I not gained any weight lately?? My diet has been a little off.
An afternoon storm Saturday while I was admiring my pretty flowers on the porch.

Sunday was Fathers day so we celebrated by going to church, Costco, arts and crafts followed by the sprinkler then hanging out at my parents later that afternoon.

Our weekend was pretty darn good even though we had some tough moments with the kids not listening or antagonizing each other.
This weekend I really want to just chill and then the next weekend we are off to the lake!

Lots of fun coming up and I have to keep reminding myself to just REST on those days we don't HAVE to go do stuff. One day I will listen to my own advice, maybe.

Friday Randoms

Ya'll work is insanely boring today.... the temptation to put in a leave request has been real but I am going to suffer through. I have less than 2 hours so I should be able to survive, right?

So here is a bunch of random pictures from my phone over the last week.
Last Thursday after work my cousin and I met up at The DIG for drinks and apps to celebrate surviving 2 tedious classes we had taken at work. One was appropriation law.... oh yeah it was as exciting as it sounds. She was running a little later than me so I stopped in at the Pink Crocodile and picked up this super cute top. I LOVE this store and they have great prices considering they are a boutique.
 Teddy being cute on Saturday.
Sunday afternoon our church did Baptisms and BBQ out on Folly so we headed out to have some fun.

Mr. Ricky and Daddy, the grill masters.

We had a decent time out there and the weather was beautiful. I will say though I was really disappointed that I was the only one who had a homemade dessert. Gone are the days I guess where people cared and took the time to actually BAKE something. I get sometimes it really is just easier but homemade is so much tastier and you don't have to make something complicated. I will stop before I really get on my soapbox about this one.

The sunset Sunday was just absolutely beautiful!
I took this picture on Tuesday when I caught a glimpse of myself leaving the bathroom. Some would say I am full of myself for taking pictures like this but honestly it is far from the truth. I struggle a lot with my mental state in regards to my body.
This picture is huge for me because I looked in the mirror and felt happy about what I saw staring back at me. I have worked hard for this body and I am proud of it I just wish I was more confident a majority of the time. A constant work in progress for sure but I am FAR from where I used to be and for that I smile.
Then I ate this for dinner HAHA we went downtown to Kaminskys to celebrate mommies birthday!! I got the carrot cake with ice cream and it was great but I will definitely just stick to my toll house cookie pie, it's a classic.

AMERICA! (no other caption needed)

Thanks for reading my super random blog post :)

Happy Friday friends, enjoy your weekend!!
