Family Beach Day

I don't know if it is the "cooler" weather or what but I feel like it's crunch time to get all the summer fun done and quick. I told Dave we needed a beach day, a trip to the pool, maybe another go down the slip n slide and whatever else that says summer. Let's be real though summer hardly ever truly leaves Charleston, it's cold only a few months out of the year.
Friday I had planned for us to get the kids and head to the park under the bridge to play then watch the sunset. Mother Nature had other plans for us unfortunately.... it POURED and we had lake front property for an hour or so. Luckily it drained quickly but it still ruined my plans for the evening.

Saturday morning we hung out around the house for a bit then after lunch drove almost an hour out to Kiawah to play at the beach. Shannon and Lola met us out there too!

It was a great yet windy afternoon at the beach but we enjoyed every minute of it.

Dave and I are hoping to go to the beach on Monday with some friends if all goes well!
Next weekend we could be dealing with Hurricane Irma unfortunately but it is still early to tell. After seeing what happened in Houston this hurricane has me very nervous. We probably won't evacuate unless its a Cat 5 headed right towards Charleston but we shall see.... weather is one thing you absolutely can't predict.
