Great Wolf Lodge Part 1

My original plan for our Great Wolf Lodge  adventure was just one blog post, that was before I realized I have 96 pictures. I may be able to condense them down but lets face it, I want to blog all the pictures. So here is part 1, prepare for picture overload.
Like I said in my last post we got up SUPER early to hit the road and beat all the Clemson/Carolina traffic headed to Columbia for the game. We ate breakfast in the car, the kids snoozed a little bit and we just had a relaxing drive.  We got to Charlotte in record time though so not really a lot of time for any of us to get bored.
We stopped at a rest area since my bladder is the smallest bladder in existence. I was so glad we stopped because the landscape was absolutely beautiful, pictures do not do it justice.

Sweet girl showing off what she got with her own money, her lanyard.

So like I said we got there in record time and couldn't check into the hotel until 1 so we did some shopping. We went to Homegoods for Dave to find some khaki pants for a class he was in the next week.
Then we hit up IKEA which was awesome because the kids went into the child area. They had a BLAST getting out some energy and we enjoyed kid free shopping in IKEA. They were only allowed to hang in there for 1 hour so they did shop with us for like 15 minutes. They absolutely LOVED the kid area so I would not be opposed to taking them again. Although next time Logan might be too tall since they go off the height of the child.

After we left IKEA we headed up to Concord Mills to kill the last hour we had until we could head over to the lodge.
We were allowed to check in to the lodge at 1 but our room wasn't ready just yet however we could go play in the waterpark until it was. winning! Dave and the kids absolutely LOVED the water park, it's not really my thing but I did enjoy getting to sit in the big pool and then just watching them all have so much fun. I was also scared if I did any of the slides things would be showing by the time I got to the end. Larger busted women understand what I am talking about.
The slides were their favorite part of the entire water park.

Lots and lots of fun playing.

Around 4 we decided to head to our room to unpack all our things, get dressed up and head to the front of the resort. Santa was arriving at 5 via Helicopter and we were NOT missing that.

 Two very excited kids.
An honest moment for a second, I had a "mommy breakdown" like 30 minutes before this because they were just acting so ungrateful for everything. After we had a come to Jesus with them things turned around in a BIG way. Yall, parenting is HARD but I do feel being completely honest with the kids is super helpful even if it means I tell them they made me cry. Yup that happened but literally after that the rest of the trip was amazing.

They loved getting to see this guy and do high fives, I don't even remember this characters name. haha

The Sunset was absolutely beautiful. Then Santa started circling the lodge in his helicopter, landed then walked right by us. We were SO worried we had the worst spot to stand in but it ended up being the BEST.

 See. Santa was RIGHT THERE!

The crowd following Santa into the hotel was just overwhelming so we took a few minutes to let the crowd die down and for us to get some fun pictures.

Alayna found one of those painted rocks in this little fountain area, she was so excited.

We went inside and attempted to stand in line for Santa but once we found out he would be there until 9 we decided we would try our luck after dinner and we had NO line. This was the best decision we made because the line was insane.
We went back to our room for a quick second then came back upstairs to hang out in the lobby where they had some free hot cocoa and cookies. Logan and I found a nice cozy spot to enjoy our hot cocoa and just chill before dinner time.

Part 2 will be the rest of our evening.
