Valentines and Year 2

I guess now that I actually HAVE a Valentine I really do enjoy this holiday. Obviously in my single years Singlesawarenessday was not my favorite! I know it is just a cheesy holiday and that you should show your loved ones that you love them year round but um chocolate... that's all I will say about that! haha
What Dave got me on the left and what I got him on the right missing this thing for his car that I didn't get a picture of! I should also note this was our valentines and anniversary gifts to each other. He also got me flowers and I made him oreo truffles! Clearly one way to our heart is sugar, amen! Just don't look at that muffin top hanging over my pants this week ;)

Since we had the kids we wanted to get them a little something, we kept it simple but they enjoyed it.

It was reallllllly cold and Dave woke up late so we didn't make it to church, we had a really lazy morning!
Oh you know just passing the time with silly pictures!

The kids bundled up for a little bit and went to ride their scooters and play at the playground. Insane because it was SO cold!
Since it was Valentines day and all I decided to wear my I love my boyfriend shirt that I got on clearance the day after our very first valentines. I was excited to try it on this year because it fit way better than it did when I initially bought it. Non scale victory my friends!

 This kid is just silly!
We went to JI to my parents house the rest of the day and hung out and had a super yummy steak dinner!! I love love love a good steak!!!
We got home, took baths, hung out then bible story time before bed. We finished the book we had so I need to go get another one because they LOVE bible story time!
My aunt tagged me on FB of this picture of my Mama (dads mommy) isn't she beautiful! Her birthday was valentines day, I believe she would have been 89.

Monday was our 2 year anniversary and we had planned to workout eat lunch then take the kids to Monkey Joes but lets just say there must have been a full moon or something because they wouldn't listen for anything.  I don't reward bad behavior with special fun things so we hung out at home the rest of the day. Which honestly was fine with me because the weather was just yucky! Alayna ended up falling asleep on her floor (her bed was taken apart because she peed in it) when does that stop?? Anyway Dave and Logan went out to get hair cuts so I literally had the apartment to myself (besides a passed out Alayna) it was nice! I meal prepped my breakfast for the week and even did a beef tenderloin in the crockpot which turned out AMAZING. I also watched a LOT of tv that afternoon!

I made us take an anniv selfie :)

The kids went home around 5 and we hung out until it was time to go to church which was maybe 30 minutes! We are really enjoying our small group so far, it is geared toward weight loss which overall I really don't care if I lose but I do not want to gain! I am pretty content where I am except for a little extra fluff on my tummy but that is all diet. I just haven't felt as committed to eating super clean/healthy. My meals are good but my snacking is not the best! I am going to work on it but you best believe I am still going to enjoy some chocolate here and there! I am forever a work in progress with this whole weight deal! :) I would say being mostly happy where I am is definitely a good thing!

Overall our 3 day weekend really was great besides a few hiccups on Monday! I think our next holiday is in May so we have awhile before any paid days off! Until next time wonderful 3 day weekend.....

Shenanigans

A 3 day weekend is always a win in my book! I actually got out of work Friday at noon and went to the gym and did a good upper body workout since my ankle was bothering me.
Dave went and got the kids around 3 then they went Valentines day shopping while I sat on my butt watching tv. They got home and I got some really pretty flowers a few days early, not like those would be easy to hide!
I absolutely loved my roses, they smell So good too!

The kids went and played outside all 3 of them ;) haha

We hung out the rest of the evening and I made Dave oreo truffles for Valentines! They are delish!

Saturday morning it was SOOOOOO cold so we stayed home for a bit before heading to the AFB. While we were hanging out I decided to try a recipe from pinterest which is pretty healthy but you still have to keep portions small because of all the PB. This treat turned out SO good and ridiculously easy. Logan loved them and asked for me to make sure we always have honey to make them!

Use 3 cups of cheerios, 1/2 cup of honey and a 1/2 cup of PB. mix the PB and honey in a pan on the stove for 5 minutes if that and constantly stir so it doesn't burn. Then mix it with the cheerios, put in an 8x8 pan lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least an hour, I am keeping mine in the fridge, they taste really good cold!

Around 4 we packed everyone in the car including Teddy and headed over to the Newmans! Lots of talking, Playing, and eating to be had!

And I wondered why I gained half a lb at my life group last night? haha we are doing weekly weigh ins and yeah I was up .5 so next week I need to make sure I am on the losing end not the gaining!
So much fun!!! and we still had 2 more days of our weekend!

Soccer

Last night in the freezing cold we went to Logan's first soccer practice.
This is his very first time playing any kind of sport or doing any organized activity outside of school stuff. I really had no intention of going since it was just a practice and you know freezing BUT Dave asked me to go so I did. We sat in traffic for what felt like forever, I will NEVER live in Summerville the traffic is always horrible.
Dave entertained Alayna for the most part while we were there!

Can you see the smile on his face?? He loved every minute of practice and I really hope he continues to love it.
When I was a kid I played soccer for a year and I wanted to continue until I found out I had back problems and was forced to wear a back brace. Soccer and a back brace just do not go together, trust me! So unfortunately I quit, I do wish I had maybe given it a better try and attempted to adjust to the brace but I didn't.

I know there will be many soccer games in our future, I am not sure that I will go to ALL of them but probably most. I know Logan absolutely loved seeing all of us there (me, Dave, Ashley (his mom) and Alayna) he kept looking as us and smiling a BIG BIG smile!

We get the kids this weekend, no clue what our plans are but there will be fun going on!

It's monday...

How on earth is it already Monday??? No really, how is it Monday? I am struggling this morning but that could be also in part because I didn't sleep good and was up at 5:15 to be to work by 6! They are doing exercises which may cause traffic so this week will have an early start daily for me. I would much rather wake up early and avoid traffic then sit in traffic and have to stay at work longer. I think it is pretty much a no brainer, am I right?

So this post is pretty much just a random jumble of pictures from the last week, you know how I roll. To think I actually take a lot less pictures now than I used to.
This just makes me laugh. Dave got a box on Wednesday and I found it like this. I really don't understand the logic with this. I even asked a UPS man the next day why they do this and he really didn't give me an answer. I guess I will just enjoy the laugh when they do it.
And you know the usual workout pictures :) I have been doing a lot more weights lately and I can see it. Now if only I could get my eating back on point I would be in business.

Dave and I are going in May to see A Day to Remember at the music farm. I have never been to the music farm and I won't lie it makes me nervous BUT I really like this band. I am sure the venue is fine but I will probably be a little nervous regardless. It just looks sketchy if you have ever seen the building.
Friday afternoon Dave and I decided we really wanted a beer and to just unwind (last week was brutal at work). We invited a friend over had a few beers with some beer brats. It was really just chill we all just ate, watched tv and talked.

We had a pretty average weekend with a lot of chill time which was nice. We hung out with my parents Saturday night which I always enjoy. Luckily for me he really doesn't mind going over there pretty much every weekend but I miss them during the week so I would go without him if I had to haha sorry Dave! As I have gotten older I really value my time with my family/friends aka the people who mean the world to me! I guess because I realize tomorrow is not promised and I want to spend time with everyone when I can.

So on another fun note, we bought a new couch and love seat which won't be delivered until maybe next week. I feel like such an adult buying things like this. I can't wait, they are a pretty charcoal color and quite comfy. PLUS the store did price matching because I found them both within the $300 range online but in the store the couch was almost $600 and the loveseat was almost $400 so yeah I definitely won on that one! So anyway yesterday we went to Kirklands and they had all their lamps on sale and we happened to need one to put in the corner of the new furniture. Have I mentioned the lighting in our apartment is aweful?? This lamp is needed. So this lamp was originally $79.99 BUT they were on sale for 20% off then we had military discount, an extra 10% off PLUS a gift card from my sister so I paid $26!

So back to my Monday freezing in my office, they need to turn the heat on for real!
